Early Prussian Police Officer’s (High Ranking) Belt Buckle by Assmann- Early fire-gilt example of this Prussian police officer’s buckle. This is a choice offering! This is a very heavy buckle gilted in gold. It is marked and dated on the reverse with the stylized “A” and the A&S, 1935, for Assmann & Söhne of Lüdenscheid. Slight wear, and some verdigris, but details are very nice. One keeper and the catch are present. The Prussian eagle is surrounded by text that read “Freistaat Preussen” (Free State Prussia). This would have been worn with a brown or black leather belt. Excellent example of an early pre-Third Reich high ranking police officer’s buckle.
