Fantastic WWII German Model 1935 Kriegsmarine Whitewash Camo Double Decal Helmet-This top shelf example has a portion of the whitewash camouflage finish applied for winter use still intact. The smooth green finish underneath appears mostly intact. The left side has a darkly toned (unquestionably navy!) eagle that remains 85% intact, being partially covered with the camo finish. The right side has a tri color shield that checks in the same. There is a light brown, soft leather liner that is size stamped 58. It does have some wear, scuffing and minor discoloration. The soldier wrote his name onto it, Hausenberger. The reinforced aluminum liner band is maker marked, dated 1938 and size stamped 66/58. The side of the interior is stamped ET 66 indicating production by Eisenhuttenwerke of Thale in the size of 66. The rear skirt is stamped with the lot number 4057 indicating production in 1938. There is a dark brown leather chinstrap with aluminum fittings. Wow! What a great piece!
