German WWII Horse Driver’s Award- Beautiful early example in gold. These badges were part of the equestrian badges which were awarded to individuals who showed proficiency in driving horse drawn wagons. This oval badge shows an oak wreath with a manned chariot being pulled by two horses in the center of the badge. This is an early example as this design does not have the “R” for “Reiter or Rider” on the bottom of the badge. The reverse is nicely maker marked “Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid”.
