German WWII SS Officer’s M-43 Cap-Sound example of a scarce field cap. This cap is made of a green ribbed gabardine material, but the body shows light to moderate wear and discoloration that proves that this was a well-worn example. This has the white wool piping for officers which also tell you that this is a later production. This has the two-button front closure, the buttons being a silver painted pebbled steel material. The insignia is the desirable two-piece with the highly detailed BeVo skull attached to the front by hand. The BeVo SS eagle located on the side flap is applied by hand. It is our opinion that both of these insignia are original application. The size marked 59 interior lining fits more like a 57 and shows wear commensurate with the exterior; it is a green nylon material. It has several stains; this is a private purchase cap with a partial leather sweatband. The sweatband has the maker’s logo with oak leaves and the term “Deuthche Industries”. Overall, the cap is a textbook example showing moderate wear and we will call it very good condition!
