German WWII Waffen SS Officer’s Visor Cap-This is a textbook example in very sound condition. It has a beautiful saddle shape to the green tricot wool body. The center band has the textbook black velvet material. This has white wool piping throughout. There is some discoloration to the top of the cap, but a close examination reveals virtually no moth damage. The silver finished matching eagle and skull are in beautiful condition. They are original replacements but are a beautifully matched set which look quite appropriate to the overall condition of the cap. The visor is in excellent condition and still firmly attached to the body. This size 57 liner has the complete diamond shaped moisture shield which is not maker marked. It has a ribbed grey rayon lining. There is considerable damage to the leather sweatband and a 5-inch piece that is missing. Overall a strong/very good textbook example.
