WWII German Army Generals Visor Cap by eReL-This is a post 1943 example produced by eReL. It is made of super soft doeskin wool. It is very clean with a few minor spots of wear/tracking, mostly seen at the top panel. The silver finished insignia is beautiful and this has the special, eReL exclusive vented cockade. One of the prongs is missing on the eagle (though it remains extremely tightly affixed) and there are extra holes where the wreath is mounted so the insignia has been replaced at some point. There is a gold celleon double chin cord held in place by a pair of gilt finished pebbled metal buttons. The black vulkanfibre visor is super clean and shiny, with some minor age crazing visible. The underside is finished in a cream hue and lightly cross hatched. The interior is fully lined in green rayon. It shows very minor wear and discoloration from use. There is a rhomboid shaped moisture shield. This has the eReL nomenclature to go along with the model, “Privat”. The sweatband is tan leather and in fine condition, showing just minor wear and discoloration and remaining very soft and supple. It is vented in the front and has the eReL “Stirnschutz” logo in silver. The cap is a size 58. Near excellent overall!
