German WWII Documented Model 35 Double Decal SS Helmet-Spectacular offering which stated life in 1938 as a DD Police helmet. Then, like many early SS helmets, it was reissued with a set of SS decals. The apple green paint is a remarkable 96% in place. The SS runic decal on the right side is produced by C.A. Pocher and it checks in at a conservative 80%, which is neat because you can clearly see portions of the party shield underneath. The party shield on the wearer’s left side is approximately 90% and is clearly covering another decal which we know is a police shield. The size marked 58 liner with reinforced aluminum liner band is in excellent shape with only minor scuffing and no tears or repairs. It has an original drawstring. It has a very clear 1938 dome stamp. The owner’s rank and name are in pencil in the rear of the skirt and are light but legible. It reads SS Hauptsturmführer Gohl. Gohl was in the SS Foreign Office (Amt VI) of the RSHA under Walter Schellenberg. We have a huge, well researched dossier (over 45 pages) complied by the professional Ross Kelbaugh which we shall give to the buyer. The side of the interior of the skirt is clearly stamped N.S. 66 and the lot number is D186. This museum quality helmet is complete with a choice black leather RBNr’s chinstrap with aluminum fittings. This will also come with a Certificate of Authenticity from famed author and dealer Kelly Hicks. Choice offering!
