German WWII Model 38 German Camouflage Paratrooper Helmet-A real beauty with a combination of light green and red camouflage paint, which remains better than 95% on the exterior of the helmet. This is a late production example with steel slotted bolts. These have never been turned or abused. The size 56 liner shows light to moderate wear, it is well marked and including the field post number and what appears to be the owner’s first name which is Otto. The gray neoprene pads and dome pad are intact and are in very nice condition. The brown leather harness with traces of the suede interior is intact. There is one break in the chinstrap but if handled properly will never get any worse. It’s an added intrigue that a helmet from this vintage would have the dark leather harness, but as the saying goes “they used what they had”. Strong offering.
