WWII German Model 1942 Helmet for School-This has “SS” stenciled in bold white script which we believe is for a school. Each side of the helmet has a circular “ghost” where some kind of script or decal once was. The field grey combat finish remains 85% intact. The liner is very stiff with discoloration and wear. It is a size 54. There is a zinc liner band that is maker marked, dated 1944 and size stamped 62/54. The rear skirt is stamped hkp 62 indicating production by Sachsische Emaillerwerke in the size of 62. The lot number is 5441, 1944 production. An interesting as found example!
