WWII German Army Artillery Officer Service Model 1936 Tunic and Breeches-This is a nicely matched service set for an army leutnant assigned to a flak unit. The tunic is produced in field grey wool that is in great condition. I found one extremely tiny hole in one of the cuffs, otherwise this is damage free. There are four pleated pockets with scalloped flaps. There is a six button closure and all buttons are field grey finished pebbled metal. The collar tabs are subdued grey bullion over dark green badge cloth with red litzen. The sew in shoulder boards are matte grey flat wire over red badge cloth. The neatly hand applied breast eagle is silver bullion with bright silver flat wire highlights over dark green wool. There are loops for two awards and a nice zinc General Assault badge is included. There is a EKII spange with ribbon sewn to the button hole. The interior is fully lined in blue grey cotton that is very clean. There is a single pocket on the left side. There is a strap and snap clip with slot for an edged weapon. There is a waist belt with plated buckle. The tunic is a size medium. The breeches are field grey wool as well, a slightly lighter shade than the tunic which is common of course. They do show some minor wear, discoloration and fading plus there are a few absolutely tiny moth nips. The lower legs have both buttoned and tie closures. A few of the buttons have been replaced and the ties are worn with missing material. There are buttoned hip pockets (buttons missing) and a single rear pocket. There is a four button fly with a single button at the waist. A few have been replaced. There is a large cinch strap at the rear. This was modified slightly at some point to accept a waist belt. One of the straps is loose. Inside, the reinforcements etc are white cotton. There are ink stamps for the size information. The waist is a size 32 and these are 40” in length. A nice service set!
