WWII German Army Signals NCO Service Tunic and Breeches-Starting with the Model 1940 field grey tunic, which is very clean. There are a few small moth holes in the lower back. There were some period modifications done to the tunic. The waist pockets were moved up slightly, the cuffs were closed, a dark green badge cloth collar was added, straps for slip on shoulder boards were added and finally, a machine woven breast eagle was added. It was all professionally tailor done and at first glance nothing stands out until you really examine it. It is a very cool piece! The pockets are pleated with scalloped flaps. There is a five button (some reattached) closure. The collar tabs have machine woven columns over dark green cloth. The boards are dark green with bright silver NCO tresse. The piping is yellow for nachrichten (signals) personnel. There is a single pip for feldwebel rank. There is a small ribbon bar pinned tightly through the coat. The interior is partially lined in brown cloth that is in great condition. There is a bandage pocket only, located on the lower right side. There are ink stamps for the size and year of production, 1940. The size is large (102). There are some moth holes underneath the collar. The breeches are dated 1943. There is some minor discoloration and wear plus a few moth holes. Some of the buttons are missing for the suspenders and lower leg closures. The waist is a size 34 and they are 38” in length. Above average condition!
