1940 Hand Carved Walking Stick-Made of a hardwood, this hand carved walking stick stands 37” tall. It is tapered. Near the top are hand carved four French suits: club, diamond, heart and a spade. Below that is a carved oak leaf with an acorn. A snake is artfully carved and entwined near the top middle of the stick. At the very top of this cane is an image of a woman, with her hair in a bun. Below that is the inscription of “Clamecy” (an area in France with a very rich WWII history), the word “souvenir” with a date of 1940 on two sides, on the other two sides have an oak leaf, and a stemmed flower. A one-of-a-kind scarce example.
