2nd Schweres Reiter-Regiment (Erzherzog Franz Ferdinand von Osterreich-Este) NCO Tunic-This is a tailor-made NCO coat that was produced circa 1890 to 1914. It is produced in soft blue wool that has minor discoloration, a bit of wear, a few extremely small nips and minor fading. It appears that there is a small repair to the rear seam of the right sleeve. There is an 8-button closure and all buttons are produced in heavy brass. The closure seam is piped in red on both sides. The stand-up collar is red badge cloth with wide gold tresse at the front and upper edges. The French cuffs are also red badge cloth with wide gold tresse and brass buttons. The sew in shoulder straps are red badge cloth on the obverse and blue badge cloth on the reverse. The brass button has the number 2 on it. The tail is piped in red and has three brass buttons on each side. The interior is lined in red rayon with black rayon on the lower half. There is quite a bit of wear and tear with a few minor repairs as well. It is a small size. Very interesting example!
