'Denison' British Airborne Specialist Clothing from WWII to the Present Day by Bruce Wilson-This is a fairly new, but gently used hardcover. Published in 2013, this is a large format book published in collaboration with Military Mode Publishing out of the UK. This book covers the history of all the British airborne smocks from the very earliest models right up until present day. It is beautifully illustrated with a large amount of exceptional surviving artefacts as well as some wonderful period images. The majority of these photos are unpublished and have never been seen outside this book. There are color plates with photos of smocks and other items, not illustrations. This work covers not only the famous Denison smock, but also highlights the earliest step in smocks, over smocks, paratrooper trousers, experimental garments, General Browning’s famous jacket and the windak smock. This book also goes into post WWII developments. This book is gorgeous and near excellent. This book stands 12 inches (30.48cm) tall and 8 ½ inches (21.59cm) wide. To be honest, I’m not sure anyone has even read this book yet, it is truly like new.
