Early German Rifle Association Cutlass by Eickhorn- This piece measures a full 24 inches in length and might even be classified as a short sword. The nickel-plated fittings on the hilt and scabbard are in very nice condition, with the exception of indentations near the bottom of the lower scabbard fitting. The stag handle has two acorns with a set of stylized rifles in between. Handle and fixtures are very nice. The scabbard, which is made of black leather with nickel fittings as described, has one crease in the center and is slightly dried but overall still quite serviceable. The blade is triple engraved and has a patriotic motif. There is some plating loss towards the tip of the blade. The Eickhorn logo is the double squirrels facing in opposite directions. The blade and the scabbard are deeply stamped with the number 26. It is also marked “Private Shooting Club Clausnitz,” that would account for the rifles on the handle. Overall near excellent condition.
