Early Prussian Admin Official Shoulder Board-This is a single dress epaulet. that is ornate! It was most likely used as a parade dress shoulder board, used by an administration official with a rank similar to captain (Hauptmann). It is constructed out of a steel base that has been wood chip padded and covered in a vibrant green and red felt. It has a beaded brass and gilted half-moon end, along with a circular edge to the other side and a gold bullion exterior. The top has a royal crown insignia with a large pip on each side. The crown insignia displays a beautiful imperial eagle on the face. The pips have lost some of their original finish. The green felt on the face is in excellent shape. The red felt on the reverse has some fading which is a result of some moth action. There is also discoloration to the reverse, so please be sure to look closely at the photos. A rare and old piece (Mid-1800’s)!
