German 98K Combat Bayonet issued to the National Postal Service-Scarce example made by Paul Weyersberg. The plum finish is in outstanding condition and hopefully the photos will do reinforce that. The ribbed wooden grip plates are in excellent condition. The blade has that plum finish and is just absolutely beautiful. Unusual to find the full Paul Weyersberg and Co Solingen information written out this way; located on the back of the blade. The front of the blade is numbered and then has the R. P. for issue to the National Postal System. The well-worn patent leather scabbard is original to the piece and is marked on the back DRP. The obverse of the frog has a break above the lug which means that the frog could easily be removed. Scarce offering!
