German Imperial Automobile Association Naval Pennant-A boat pennant “Schifffahrts Flagge” for a member of the ADAC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil Club/General German Automobile Club). Constructed of light weight white bunting with a multi-colored print on the obverse, depicting a motif similar to the German naval flag, but with the insignia of the ADAC within the circle, as well as with a fouled anchor on the top left of the flag. All edges of the flag feature a dual-ply hem, with the hoist edge featuring a dual-ply cotton bunting with a small tunnel-looped suspension rope. Moderate tearing to the center of the flag just above the eagles’ head, and in several other spots. The pennant measures 10 inches wide, and 20 inches long. The initials FKD are on the lower left corner of the flag in red. We are unsure what these initial stands for and if anyone knows, we’d love to learn the answer. Very interesting display piece.
