German Imperial Period Special Gilt Plated Fireman’s Axe-Restricted sales to US residents and no sales to California or New York. This measures approx. 16 ½” in length and is worth taking the time to examine the photos we’ve attached. All of the background to this nickel-plated example has a gold gilting to it. There is a fireman’s motif to the obverse and the reverse, and the detail to the rest of the axe head as well as the upper fittings is really beautiful. There are two nickel plated inserts, the reverse has a nice engraving with a flowered motif. The obverse is not engraved. The lower section measure approx. 4 1/2 “is a special white ribbed material. Overall, this piece shows light wear, but would be a real asset for someone who collects this type of artifact.
