German WW2 Fire Brigade 2nd Class Medal-This was awarded to both active and volunteer firefighters, as well as fire administrators for their 25 years of faithful service. This would have been worn on a medal bar or ribbon on the left breast. It is a 1 5/8” cross, with a center motif of a black swastika. Projecting from the center and along the arms of the cross are red flames on a white field. Between the arms of the cross are the words “Für Verdienste im Feuerlöschwesen” (For Merit in the Fire Brigade Organization). All of the metal portions are nickel silver, with a plain reverse. The enamel has some damage to the left arm of the cross. There are also a few cracks to the black center swastika The silver finish on the reverse shows some lifting. Despite this, this is still a nice looking badge. This example is missing its original piece of ribbon. Good only condition and priced accordingly.
