German WWI 1914 iron Cross 2nd Class-This is a rare brass version of the Iron Cross 1914. It has lost a good third of its black finish on the core. Some of the silver is also missing on the frame, but you can see the remaining brass. The ribbon has darkened to a very dark, almost brown color. This is from age and storage. It strangely complements the brown color of the brass. This is an interesting example of an early war medal.
