German WWI Cased Iron Cross 1914-Wait until you see this one. This is truly gorgeous. The black iron core finish on this example is perfect. There is some very, very, slight rusting on the right and left arms of the cross, you can just see this rusting on the tips where the black finish just meets the silver frame. The silver frame has darkened to a nice color that compliments the black core of this badge. This badge is vaulted, which also compliments the look of this award. The pin is marked with “800” which indicates the silver content. The catch and pin function perfectly. This comes with its original black pebbled leatherette case. The embossed gold iron cross emblem on the lid looks great. The case does have some scuffs on the bottom front edge. It is lined with an off-white flocking that is also in great condition. The clasp on the case works but it is a little stiff; you have to press it hard to open the case. This may loosen up with use. Again, this is a beautiful, top shelf, example.
