German WWI Imperial Navy Officer’s Sword by Eickhorn-This measures approx. 36” in total length and is a fine example of this style sword. The solid brass hilt is a lion’s head and has the red and green glass eyes to symbolize the port and starboard sides of the ship. This has an ivory handle and a triple brass wire wrap. There is one visible crack in the ivory but no loss of material. It is complete with a beautifully tied officer’s’ knot. The Imperial crown and anchor is visible under the guard on the hilt. This has a locking mechanism which still functions properly. The black leather scabbard with nicely detailed brass fittings is in excellent shape for its age. With virtually no wear or visible damage. This has a handsome triple engraved blade, with true naval motif including a battleship engraved on both sides of the blade. It has an early Eickhorn double squirrel maker mark. Full excellent example and will make a fine addition to your collection! WE CAN ONLY SHIP THIS TO US ADDRESSES.
