German WWII 2nd Model Luftwaffe Fallschirmjäger Take Down Knife by SMF-This is a sound example of a 2nd model take down knife. This model has been modified from the earlier 1st model, as this model can be disassembled for cleaning or maintenance. This example functions perfectly with a tight spring. The bluing on all the metal fittings is intact and has a handsome tone. The hardwood grips are in sound condition. There is a significant dark spot where someone has stored this knife with the ring down on the handle, and it has darkened underneath where the ring sat. The spike has the same bluing in place, and has the RBN’r stamped on the pivot 0/0561/0019 for SMF. The blade is unmarked and also in sound condition. Please be aware that there are a few nicks, and the blade has been sharpened which is not unusual.
