German WWII Allgemeine or Waffen SS Belt Buckle-This is a one piece stamped steel example of an SS buckle. This was originally finished in silver, and approx. 30% of this silver is in place on the obverse, and approx. 80% remaining on the reverse. You can see the steel coming through in the front. There is minor oxidation on the front where the paint is missing. The obverse depicts an SS eagle with an outstretched tongue and wings clutching a centrally placed wreathed static swastika in its talons. The eagle is above the SS motto: "Meine Ehre heißt Treue!" which is in front of a pebbled background that is surrounded by two twisted ropes in a circle. This is all on the smooth rectangle field. These still have very strong details. The steel rollbar and catch are in place and work as intended. This is a strong sound wartime example.
