German WWII Army Camo Hood (Splintertarn Kopfhaube)-This is a great example of a Heer splinter pattern camouflage hood. It is constructed of a multi-piece rayon blend. It is lined inside with a gray silk/rayon material. The exterior is dyed in a classic Wehrmacht splinter pattern consisting of green and brown mottle, overlaid by an array of green splinters. It is flanked on each side by a grey wool earpiece, allowing for functionality without compromising comfort. The lower portion of the hood fans outward and drapes over the wearer’s neck, providing additional protection from the elements. Two additional flaps emanate from the chin, reinforced with stitched darts and bearing a grey cotton drawstring for closure. The drawstring appears to have been shortened on this example. It’s in near excellent condition.
