German WWII Army Dagger by Alcoso-This is a decent looking dagger. It has beautiful nickel silver plated fittings that have taken on a darker tone which makes the details pop. This shows some wear, as you can see some wear on the details of the eagle. They are still strong, but you know that someone worn this dagger. The pumpkin orange celluloid handle is damage free and has taken on a nice light orange color. The scabbard is a nice plated silver and in good condition with a nice-looking tone and details to both the fittings and the pebbling. The silver has toned in the deepest detail giving this a handsome look. This steel scabbard is dent free. The blade is also in very good condition, with its Alcoso scales logo on the reverse. This logo is one of the earlier wartime variations. It shows the scales with the initials A.C.S. This was later changed to A.C.W.  During the TR period the Alcoso company was still making blades, but in 1941 Alexander Coppel was arrested by the party, and sent to Theresienstadt Prison camp, where he died on August 5th, 1942. The Alcoso company changed their logo to the scales with AWS initials, because they didn't want the Coppel name in the logo, (because of Coppel’s Jewish association). During the war their logo changed several more times so you can see other variations.  This is an untouched beauty that is worth taking a look at.
