German WWII Army Dagger by Kolping-This is a desirable maker and the fittings on the dagger are nickel silver with very nice detailing. The handle is intriguing as there are multiple slight age cracks almost indicative of an ivory handle, but this is NOT made of ivory. Perhaps this is something that is characteristic of the material used by this maker. The hilt fittings and scabbard show very little use and have no damage whatsoever. Let’s rate the blade at very good, as there are some water spots and a little bit of darkening. The distinctive Kolping logo is the beer mug, I’ve seen this on other daggers but, frankly, never on an Army dagger. Sound, interesting example!
