German WWII Army (Heer) Buckle-Handsome example by a little seen maker. This is an aluminum, pebbled buckle that retains only a portion of its original finish on the obverse and approx. 50% on the reverse. There is an integral, slotted catch and the roll bar/prongs are aluminum. The reverse is marked under the catch, with an inverted triangle containing the initials "J M O" for maker Julius Maurer of Oberstein, and with what may possibly be the date "37" but it is difficult to make out. This does have some heavy wear to the eagle, as its feather details are mostly missing on the chest and wings, but this is a combat wartime buckle so this would not be a big surprise. Interesting collectible and priced to sell.
