The badge is produced in light weight metal and was awarded to 16-year-olds that were in the Hitler Youth. This particular example has a bronze finish that remains 85% intact overall and has a great tone to it. This badge displays a swastika encircled by the wording “Für Leistungen in der HJ” (“For Proficiency in the Hitler Youth”) in a runic style script, this is superimposed over a large runic ‘T’. The reverse has a bronze pin as well as an RZM stamp and the manufacturer code M1\/35 indicating production by Watchler and Lange. Also seen is a stamped number 256891, this would have been entered into the personal book of the recipient.
