German WWII Lion’s Head Sword by Paul Weyersberg- The brass hilt is heavily ornate with red glass eyes and an outstretched army eagle on the cross guard and languet. The black celluloid handle retains its triple wire wrap and is in perfect condition. This measures approximately 39 ½ inches in length. The black enameled paint on the scabbard is a remarkable 95% intact. The blade is in near excellent condition but does have some slight discoloration. There appears to be one of the runners missing from the interior, because if you turn this upside down, it will slide out of the scabbard. The original leather buffer is still in place under the cross guard. A very handsome and desirable sword.
