German WWII Luftschutz 2nd Class Honor Award-This was awarded to persons who had served honorably in the civil defense of Germany since 1-30-1933, whether in the RLB, the SHD, Werkschutz (Fire &Emergency Police or the Ordinary Police). The award is round and produced in zinc with a gray finish. The obverse features a large swastika with the inscription “Für Verdienste im Luftschutz” surrounded by an oak leaf wreath. The reverse has the wreath and the center of the badge simply states the date, 1938. Finish shows slight wear. An original short portion of ribbon is included. There is no pin on this example, but is a fine example of this type!
