German WWII Luftwaffe Observer’s Badge in Cloth-This is a cloth version of the desirable observer’s badge. It is gray embroidery over a blue grey badge cloth backing. The reverse has a backing which is stitched in place, and is fully intact. We have a few of these, and the one you receive will be the same if not better than the one in the photograph.
History: The Observers qualification badge was introduced by Hermann Göring in March of 1936 as an award to Observers, Navigators and Bombardiers who had met the required criteria. The Observers badge was awarded on an individual basis and criteria for bestowal included five operational flights over enemy territory or a minimum of two months active service.
