German WWII Model 40 Single Decal Luftwaffe Helmet-This is one of the helmets that I enjoy having but is not for everyone because it has been personalized by a GI. The rough textured grey paint is a solid 95% and the Luftwaffe eagle is approx. 80% but it looks like there was a bit of black ink used to X out the eagle. The GI printed on the front of the helmet very carefully, with the wording, “SOVENIR GERMANY 1945”. The size 55 liner has three torn tongues and some fraying but still displays very nicely. The shell is marked Q62 and the batch number is not totally visible so I will not speculate. Interesting piece, for those of us who care, and bargain priced.
