German WWII Officer’s Cavalry Sword-This is an unmarked example measuring approx. 37 inches in length and has a beautiful presentation. The gilded “P” guard is very ornate including a handsome army style eagle and swastika on the top of the pommel area. This is a rarely encountered sword. I should have researched better and can probably find out who the maker is, but at the present time, I’ll let you do the research. The black celluloid twisted grip wire is in excellent shape. The black enameled paint on the scabbard is better than 95% intact. The blade is in excellent shape and the previous owner has put some oil on it, and I have elected not to remove this, but I can assure you that the blade is mint. I forgot to mention that this is a cavalry sword because it has crossed swords on the languet. It is complete with an imperial style properly tied knot that has the oversized bullion ball. Rare example.
