Kompanie \/ Panzer-Aufklärungs-Abteilung 110). This unit operated under the 10th Panzergrenadier Division. Pollner was officially awarded the medal on November 3, 1944, for his tactical initiative and gallantry as an armored reconnaissance platoon leader during the heavy defensive operations on the Eastern Front. He survived the war and lived into his late 80s, passing away in Bavaria in 2004. This black and white photo measures approx. 3 ¼ inches (8.25cm) wide, and 5 inches (12.7cm) tall. It is signed by Pollner at the lower section of the photo just under his knights cross. He also signed the back of the photo.
