German WWII Pony Fur Pack-Desirable Wehrmacht backpack, well-marked by Franz Brehme Walsrode 1938. This is the earlier example with the built-in large leather shoulder straps (the model 1939 had separate straps). The orange brown pony fur is mostly intact and clean. The body of the pack is light olive-green heavy canvas that is in very good condition, with some wear and discoloration. This horsehair back pack has moderate wear, with some age discoloration and staining. The straps, buckles and buttons are all present, working and in sound condition, although some of the leather has stiffened from age and use. The thick brown leather strap support at the top is stamped with maker info and the date, 1938. A desirable example of an iconic artifact!
