German WWII Postal Dagger by Weyersberg- Very sound example. The uncleaned nickel silver fittings are in place and show only slight discoloration. The black ebony wood handle is excellent. Retaining the unique Postshutz eagle insignia. A collector has applied a representative post war knot to this piece which we are including at no extra charge. The original black enameled paint to the scabbard is 85% in place. The nickel silver chain is retained in place with a zinc snap ring. This is correct and often found on the Postshutz daggers. The reverse is DRGM and ASSMAN marked. This piece is stamped with the serial number 1939 under the left-hand side of the cross guard. The right-hand underside of the cross guard is marked DRP. Other than some light spotting on the Weyersberg marked blade, I will rate the blade as near excellent, and give the overall piece the same condition grade.
