German WWII RAD Buckle-This is a 1939 dated, injection molded, pebbled aluminum belt buckle by Josef Feix u. Sohne, of Gablonz. The buckle shows signs of moderate wear in some places, though to me, it appears that someone deliberately removed the finish from the swastika and the edges of the shovel to make the silver of the aluminum underneath stand out better. This was commonly done to make the motif details stand out a bit better. Take a look at the photos and decide for yourself. Very nicely maker marked on the reverse “JFS 39”. Nice example of a RAD buckle.
