German WWII Red Cross Enlisted Man’s Hewer-Early example with beautiful plated fittings which retain virtually all of their finish. This is a rarely encountered example with a unit designation which happens to be 78 and the name of the city in which this was issued. This happens to be Leipzig and we all know what happened there. The original black enameled paint on the scabbard is a solid 80%. The sawback blade is near mint with just a few in and out marks. This early example is marked Ges.Gesch under the langet. Both grip plates are also perfect. Scarce identified example!
