German WWII SA Dagger by Asso- This is a handsome early example with all of the correct textbook characteristics associated with early production including solid nickel fittings. The brown wooden handle has a perfect fit with early nickel silver eagle that is in very good condition. The SA runic button is missing some enamel, but overall is a tight fit and in sound shape. The reverse of the lower cross guard is group marked “Ns” for the district of Niedersachsen. The anodizing on the scabbard has a few spots of lifting, but overall, it retains 70% of its original anodized finish. The nickel silver fittings on the scabbard are very good, as is the ball on the lower scabbard fitting. The blade with the “All for Germany” motto and the rarely seen Asso Solingen two horse logo is as nice as they come. This has the usual in and out marks and I would rate this blade as full excellent. This comes with its original, correct brown leather hanger that shows signs of wear, and could use a bit of conditioning. The hanger looks slightly fragile at the point where it attaches to its ring so handle this with some care. This is an extremely nice early production SA dagger.
