The brown wooden handle is in very good condition. There is a small crack just above the runic button, so please see photos. The nickel silver grip eagle is tight to the handle. It shows excellent tone and nice details. The Sa runic button is good only; there is green verdigris around the edges of the button which we have not attempted to clean up. The matte nickel silver fittings on the crossguard and pommel are near excellent. The reverse of the crossguard is marked for the SA Gruppe “Th” which indicates Thuringia. The anodized scabbard looks very good, there are some small dents here and there, but the finish on the scabbard is mostly in place. The fittings are very good, though the ball tip is slightly flattened. The blade is very good, though some of the burnishing has lifted from the “Alles für Deutschland” motto. This blade shows some scuffing, and in and out marks which is not unusual. This blade is a tight fit to the scabbard, so be aware.
