German WWII Second Model RLB Officer’s Dagger by Ernst Witte***STILL AVAILABLE***-Very intriguing example showing a combination of earlier and later materials being used in this scarce model dagger. The fittings on the hilt are a highly polished aluminum. The fittings on the scabbard are a nickel-plated steel-based material. This is the interesting combination that I am referencing in this description. The blue pebbled Moroccan leather on both the handle and the scabbard show light wear but no damage. The second model RLB starburst grip insignia shows wear to the highlights of the finish and slight damage to the enameled swastika. This, I believe, is from actual use while being worn. The blade has the usual in and out marks but has the distinctive combination of the Ernst Witte nomenclature combined with that diamond shaped logo. The original thick leather buffer is present under the crossguard. Handsome example!
