German WWII Very Early RAD EM Buckle by Assmann-This is a very early example of an RAD labor buckle. It is a single piece construction, crafted of a pebbled aluminum with the bright aluminum finish, which is referred to as “silverfarbig” (silver color). It is very nicely marked and dated on the reverse with the stylized “A” for F.W. Assmann & Sohne of Lüdenscheid, with a date of 36. The buckle has only slight wear, although there is a tiny hole that appears on the left-hand side of the shovel. This hole is very small and hardly noticeable but I wanted to point it out. There is an integral catch with aluminum roll bar and prongs. Handsome example!
