It features a nickel\/silver finished aluminum breast plate. The plate and gold emblems retain almost all of their original finish. Four very detailed Veteran’s flags are superimposed in the gilt finished metal. In the center is the enameled logo of the veteran’s league which is a red shield with a black cross and swastika. The enamel is nearly excellent, as are the colors of the veterans insignia. There is slight discoloration to the red enamel. The two ornate buttons in the corner, that secure the clips for the chain, are in place. The back of the plate is lined with navy blue wool that is intact but shows moth tracking. One of the tabs on the reverse is marked with the number 4. The full-length chain, which has a swastika\/Iron Cross alternating motif, is present as well.
