German WWII Wooden Moose Wall Plaque-This could also be known as an elk since, that is what they call moose in Europe. This dark wooden plaque measures 7 inches (177.8mm) tall by 4 inches (101.6mm) wide. There is an elk’s head in profile made out of a bronze cutout, and below this is a small bronze plaque with dedication. This is dedicated to a “war(time) wedding” that took place in 1943. The dedication is from the staff of the 291st Infantry Division (J.D.). Both the bronze pieces are bolted on from the rear with heavy duty bolt. There is also a mechanism for hanging installed at the rear. This is in very good shape and an interesting conversation piece.
