Heer Fotoalbum for Artillerie-Regiment 56-This is an extremely well-preserved photo album from a member of the 56th Regt. heavy artillery. It contains approx. 48, mostly candid, photos. There are great shots of heavy artillery guns and armored vehicles. Captures the daily activities of the guys in the regiment, along with a few travel photos. The first third of this photo album is stock text along with black and white photos, illustrations and stories describing the artillery’s contribution to the war in 1938 and in history. The first page features a Fraktur text inscription that reads “Erinnerung an meine Wehrdienstzeit” (“In Commemoration of my Military Service Time”). The rest of the photo album has a place for notes and other collectibles. The 48 photos that are included in this book are great images of heavy artillery, some troop transport armored vehicles, the guys preparing for battle, the boys training and swimming. There are also some shots of areas that were visited during their time off or during troop movement. The cover of this book is made of brown leather that is an alligator skin design. There is a hole on the back cover in the center, so please be sure to look closely at the photos to see the damage. The front cover of this photo album shows a Heer eagle and “Artillerie-Regiment 56” embossed in a silver gilt. The book is bound with a brown cord. Overall, in great condition.
