Important Photo Album to SS-Muscheid-He was a member of Leibstandarte SS "Adolf Hitler" in Berlin since 1936. He served as a guard and was at Hitler's Berghof. He was sent to the field where he was awarded the German Cross in Gold on May 5th, 1943 as an SS-Oberscharführer serving as an assault gunner with SS-Sturmgeschütze-Abteilung 8 of SS-Kampfgruppe Fegelein. He was a recipient of the HJ membership badge in gold, the Iron Cross 1st and 2nd Class, the Wound Badge in black and silver, the Infantry Assault Badge in silver, the "Alter Kämpfer" chevron as well as the Julleuchter of the SS. Muscheid was reported missed in action in March 1945. This is one of his official photo albums, (see S-404 for the other album) which has a two-tone brown leather cover, with sunken silvered SS runes on lower left of the dark brown side of the leather cover. The strings holding the cover together are in place and intact. Photos of Muscheid's German Cross awarding ceremony to the first page as well as a period time newspaper cutout showing Muscheid wearing his black Panzer wrapper reporting, that SS-Oberscharführer Muscheid was awarded the German Cross in gold. There are a couple of really rare shots of Muscheid with his grey assault gunner's wrapper wearing all awards including the German Cross and his Golden HJ membership badge. Six original photographs of a brand-new Panther tank inspected by his unit. 75 photographs in total. Mostly war time.
