Japanese WWII Statue with Presentation Plaque-This bronze statue of a soldier stands 11” high with its black wooden base. He is standing on a rock, with his rifle and bayonet in the right hand, and his left resting on his waist. His uniform is detailed, with the star on his helmet. He has a dagger on his left side as well. The tip of his bayonet has been broken off, but we do have the bayonet tip, and it will be included. There is a presentation plaque on the front in gold with kanji. There is also an inscription on the back, with what possibly may be the signature of the sculptor. Unfortunately, I can’t translate either of these inscriptions. This statue is heavy, 12 pounds in total, and may require additional postage. Very nice research project.
