Kriegsmarine Rear Admiral Reefer Jacket, to R.K. Winner Hans Michaelles-Beautiful custom-tailored reefer jacket attributed to Kriegsmarine Konteradmiral u. Ritterkreuztrager Hans Michaelles. He was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross on April 30, 1945 (!) as Konteradmiral and Festungskommandant Girondemündung Nord. The attribution is based solely upon the metal monogram initial place attached to the right internal breast pocket and the rare rank as Konteradmiral Ing. It has a woven tag from a Memel based tailor. It is double breasted and constructed of dark blue ribbed trikot wool with a black rayon lining. There are two internal breast pockets, one small breast pocket and two hip pockets with straight flaps. There is a double row of five gilt finished anchor buttons which are marked 20 M. Each cuff has one wide and three narrow rank rings of gold tresse. Each sleeve has a gold bullion career patch for Ingenieurooffiziere corps. The breast eagle is beautiful gold bullion over a dark blue badge cloth backing. It is hand applied. There are loops for three awards and the coastal artillery badge is included. You can clearly see where the EKII spange was mounted to the button. It is a large size. There is a ton of info available on the admiral online. He died in 1975 at age 76. We have included print outs of a lot of this information but look online for a lot more! A great piece!
